Welcome to the universe of the 1st Cine-Forum Short Film Award!
The Cine-Fórum Short Film Awards aim to foster audiovisual production, promote cultural, artistic and social values, and democratize access to diverse cinematic and artistic languages. Registration is free and can be done online, as is the award ceremony. In this environment of creativity and artistic expression, we celebrate the power of cinema in its most compact and provocative form: the short film. We are excited to launch the categories that will bring our dreams, questions and unique narratives to life. We invite everyone to embark on this cinematic journey full of diversity, reflection and unparalleled talent.

Highlighting the Special Categories of the Cine-Fórum Awards:
On our stage of honor, in addition to the traditional categories, we celebrate diversity, inclusion and representation through special categories that echo unique voices and essential stories. Each of them makes space for narratives and perspectives that reflect the richness of the human experience, challenging us to explore new horizons and celebrate the plurality of contemporary cinema.

SHORT FILMS by filmmakers of ANY GENDER, RACE, CREED, or LOCATION IN THE WORLD will be accepted.

SHORT FILMS by beginner filmmakers, undergraduate or graduate students, postgraduates—short films created as part of course completion projects or equivalents—and amateur audiovisual filmmakers will be accepted.

Interested participants may submit ONLY films completed between 2023 and the present, except for the Junior* category.

Films from other countries and/or in other languages must have subtitles in Portuguese.

Films must not exceed 22 minutes, including credits.

Each film must have a representative, aged at least 18 years, who will be responsible for registration, communication with the Cine-Fórum Collective's production team, and the short film itself.

Representatives may submit UP TO 2 short films, which may result in the selection of one, both, or neither.
*Exceptionally, in the Best Junior Short Film category, participants must be students regularly enrolled in public or private elementary or high schools. A teacher, coordinator, director, parent, or guardian aged 18 or older must be responsible for registration. This category will accept short films completed from 2022 onward.
Minimum technical specifications:

The audiovisual work must have a minimum resolution of 720p (HD).

It must not exceed 22 minutes, including credits.

The film can be in color or black-and-white.

If subtitles are included, they must be synchronized.

Audio must be minimally audible and comprehensible.

Films may be in widescreen or fullscreen formats.

There is no minimum file size requirement in MB or GB.

Three promotional photos of the short film must be submitted along with the film at the time of registration.
Awards:
Regardless of the number of people involved in the short film (whose names will be disclosed if selected), the SHORT FILM THAT WINS FIRST PLACE will receive the following awards:

A trophy sent to the person responsible for the registration.

A winner’s seal for the short film.

All participants will receive a digital winner's certificate.
For second and third places, the short film will receive:

A selected seal.
-
A digital certificate for national recognition as a selected work.
Among all first-place winners, one will be selected as the BEST SHORT FILM. This work will receive the following:

A total prize of BRL 500.

A certificate.

A special winner's seal.
