WORK GROUPS 2025

1 – LITERATURE, LINGUISTICS, AND LANGUAGE STUDIES

The  Literature, Linguistics, and Language Studies aims to bring together researchers, professors, and students to engage in dialogue about the intersections between linguistic and literary studies, exploring the multiple languages that permeate their diverse manifestations. The group’s objective is to promote theoretical and practical discussions about the processes of creation, interpretation, and teaching related to languages, emphasizing the relevance of these fields in the contemporary context. The proposal is to foster interdisciplinary reflections that contribute to the critical analysis of texts, discourses, and cultural practices, in tune with the challenges and demands of today’s societies. This GT will accept works addressing literary studies, linguistic studies, and the broader field of language studies and its developments, such as comparative literature, comparative studies, literary criticism, literary analysis, as well as semiotics, intersemiotics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, among others.

2 – COMMUNICATION, INFORMATION, AND MEDIA

Communication, Information, and Digital Media, part of the 5th Cine-Fórum 2025, focuses on analyzing contemporary dynamics in the production, circulation, and consumption of media content, covering advertising, cinema, television, streaming, journalism, and other forms of communication. With an emphasis on the interaction of communicative practices, information, and traditional and contemporary media, the group seeks to explore the impacts of these transformations on discourses, narrative strategies, and the formation of subjectivities. The objective is to promote interdisciplinary debates that integrate theoretical and practical perspectives on the challenges and possibilities of communication, information, and media in a scenario marked by technological convergence and the constant evolution of communication formats. This GT will accept works addressing communication studies, televisualities, television, streaming, cinema and audiovisual, educommunication, organizational communication, communication theories, media and information studies, among others.

3 – EDUCATION AND TEACHER TRAINING

Education and Teacher Training, part of the 5th Cine-Fórum 2025, aims to foster discussions about pedagogical practices, teacher education, and the contemporary challenges of education across different teaching levels. This group explores innovative teaching strategies, active methodologies, and the use of educational technologies, promoting reflections on knowledge construction and the critical formation of educators. With a focus on the integration of theory and practice, GT3 encourages debates addressing the relationship between education, culture, and society, contributing to the strengthening of teaching practices aligned with the demands of an increasingly dynamic and complex reality. Specifically, this GT will accept experience reports from PIBID, Pedagogical Residency, and/or Undergraduate Student Internships within the scope of Education.

4 – ART, INTERTEXT, PERFORMANCES, AND REPRESENTATIONS

Art, Intertext, Performances, and Representations, part of the 5th Cine-Fórum 2025, proposes an interdisciplinary reflection space on the multiple artistic expressions and their intersections with intertext, performances, and cultural representations. This group focuses on analyzing the forms of creation and interpretation in the visual, performing, literary, and audiovisual arts, considering their relations with the sociocultural and historical context. The proposal is to discuss how artistic narratives and performances interact with other languages and discourses, contributing to the construction of meanings, identities, and memories, from a critical and innovative perspective that addresses contemporary challenges and potentials. This GT will accept works addressing communication and literature studies, cinema and literature, cinema and psychoanalysis, visual arts, performing arts, intertextuality, comparative art, comparative religion, comparative cinema, comparative literature, representation, bodies, and gender, among others.

5 – PHILOSOPHY, SOCIOLOGY, CULTURE, AND CONTEMPORARY CRITIQUE

Philosophy, Sociology, Culture, and Contemporary Critique, part of the 5th Cine-Fórum 2025, is dedicated to promoting interdisciplinary discussions that integrate philosophical, sociological, and cultural reflections on contemporary phenomena. This group focuses on critical analyses of issues related to ethics, politics, subjectivity, social relations, and cultural production, considering the challenges posed by current transformations. The proposal is to foster debates that engage with classical and contemporary theories, exploring the impacts of social and cultural changes on the ways of thinking, acting, and representing reality, contributing to a broader and more critical understanding of present-day complexities. This GT will accept works addressing philosophy, sociology, culture, critique, Afrofuturism, African studies, Afro-diasporas, among others.
